Entering the Conversation

Writing an argumentative research paper is a great experience. It gives you the unique opportunity to learn more about a subject that interests you, and then to enter the conversation on the topic. You get the opportunity to ponder a subject and to develop an opinion on it. You're then able to share your opinion by commenting on the subject, sharing your ideas and spreading new thought. This encourages even more conversation and exploration of the topic. In my research paper, I want to include possible solutions to the problems I'll be addressing. I think that this is also important because it opens a dialogue about the issues and ways that we can solve them.

It can be hard to share your ideas and opinions on a subject, especially on something that you aren't an expert on. We'll be reading articles by well established writers, and although they won't be reading our articles, it's still good practice for the future. We also need to believe that we have something worth saying.
